Poplar Bend has four major components: day treatment, education, therapy, and residential treatment. Day treatment goals (short and long term) are designed to meet and enhance development in essential living skills. The placement facility is open to boys and girls in state custody. Counseling, educational services, structured treatment activities, and adjunct and specialized services are components of this facility. | Conditions that apply: |
Children eligible for this level program will have a DSM IV clinical diagnosis of a mental disorder or will have been identified by a mental health professional as having at least moderate emotional and/or behavioral problems. Children may be delinquent, chronic runaways, display manipulative behaviors, have difficulty maintaining self-control, display poor self esteem, have difficulty in securing and maintaining close relationships with others, be habitually truant from school and have difficulty accepting authority.
