Description: This program is operated by the Jackson Housing Authority and serves Madison County Section 8 tenants and low-rent tenants. The program promotes self-sufficiency among participating families, including the provisions of supportive services such as life skills training, goal setting, and individual training. A service plan is also developed, which addresses budgeting, home ownership counseling, buyer education, parenting classes, and on-going case management for up to five years. The program also provides knowledge of community resources and services avaiable, knowledge of self, job readiness training, identification of barriers, survival skills, and an escrow savings account.
